Milliken & Company - A Carbon Negative Manufacturer
Milliken & Company achieves carbon negative certification without purchased Renewable Energy Credits
This is achieved through:
Energy Reduction - our continuous improvements to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Renewable Energy - through harvesting methane gas from a community landfill, replacing at least 30% of natural gas at our carpet plant in La Grange, GA, USA.
Carbon Sequestration - Milliken owns over 138,000 acres of timber, with 1 million trees nurtured each year.
What does it mean to be Carbon Negative?
"Carbon Negative" means that damaging CO² emitted from our energy usage and transport, is less than the amount of CO² that we remove or sequester from the atmosphere.
Carbon Neutral Certification
Milliken is now issuing Carbon Neutral Certification upon request.

Milliken's carbon negative status has been 3rd party certified by the Leonardo Academy.
