Clerkenwell Design Week declared a success at 5tudioMilliken

Milliken Contract opened the doors of its London showroom, 5tudioMilliken, throughout Clerkenwell Design Week, inviting the design and architecture community of London and beyond to take part in three action-packed days.

The Tuesday brought a packed 5 Berry Street showroom as renowned colour psychologist Angela Wright explained the impact of colour and its affect on our psyche. Followed by Milliken Contract Design Director, Carol Appleton on nature’s role in design, Colour Day proved a great opener for the three-day event.

With the aim of delivering architects and designers diversity, the second day of Clerkenwell Design Week saw 5tudioMilliken turn in to a world of materials, as Milliken Contract invited six materials companies to their showroom. Gumdrop, Curface Re-worked, Johnson Tiles, Tektura, Metall FX and Graphic Concrete showed their innovative surfaces and solutions to passing attendees throughout the course of Materials Day.

On the final day, 5tudioMilliken turned into a tea room serving up delightful cupcakes in seven very special flavours, providing a welcome break for tired feet throughout the course of Parlour Day. With a seven-stop pirate themed treasure hunt also taking place over the three days, Clerkenwell Design Week was a great success.

"The district of Clerkenwell is not only home to 5tudioMilliken but also awash with architecture and design practices making a festival of design a natural part of the calendar," explains Kate Burnett, Development and Marketing Manager. "We were delighted to be involved and it has been great to meet so many faces and to have such a constant stream of people visiting 5tudioMilliken.

"With pirates running through the streets and a packed showroom, this year is going to be difficult to top, but we promise that the next Clerkenwell Design Week will see even bigger and better things happening at 5tudioMilliken."
